FAQ's
Question:
Why should I use a QT Box™ in place of a corrugated cardboard box or a hard, trunk-like ATA  case?

Answer:

The QT Box™ has passed third-party testing standards and, thus, offers  superior protection to assure that your fragile products arrive at their final destination without any damage. The QT Box™ design has distinct advantages over both cardboard boxes and ATA cases. These are more specifically addressed in the questions and answers below.  The intent of the QT Box is not to replace all hard shell cases.  We recognize that there are application where a hard shell case is the best alternative.  As such we also have a division that manufactures hard shell cases.  Please visit www.qtcases.com for further information.

Question: Since the QT Box™ is more expensive than cardboard shipping containers, how can I justify this additional cost?

Answer:
The cost benefits of a QT Box™ are easily justified in three ways:
1.     Since the QT Box™ is reusable, its cost should be divided by the number of shipping cycles.  Most customers experience between 60 and 120 shipping cycles for a QT Box™.  When this is considered, the QT Box™ is often less expensive than other shipping containers which provide inadequate protection.

2.     If the item being shipped is very expensive (some electronic items and medical instruments cost thousands of dollars), the cost of a QT Box™ is immediately justified in relation to the value of the item being shipped.

3.     Since the QT Box™ is light-weight, it saves in shipping and freight costs when compared to other types of protective shipping containers.

Question:
Why does the QT Box™ offer superior protection?

Answer:The QT Box™ is constructed of corrugated plastic and is designed with a telescoping top which slides over the bottom to provide a double layer of protection, i.e., the closed QT Box™ effectively includes four layers of corrugated plastic.  The interior of the box has custom-designed foam padding (specifically designed for the product being shipped) as does the inside of the upper lid.  The upper and lower sections of the box are fastened with a Velcro-like material and a security seal can be attached to provide a tamper-proof closure.

Question: Wouldn’t those hard, trunk-like cases (sometimes called ATA cases) provide better protection than a QT Box™.

Answer:Since the QT Box™ is made of corrugated plastic, it actually “gives” when dropped or jarred, thus absorbing energy and protecting the fragile item inside.  Conversely, rigid or hard cases allow the energy to pass through to the item inside even though a fragile item being shipped in a hard case might have foam protection similar to the QT Box™.

Question: Can I get a QT Box™ from anyone other than QT Cases?

Answer:The QT Box™ has both United States and Canadian Patents and an additional U.S. Patent is pending.  QT Boxes are only available through our parent company QT Cases.

Question: What sizes of QT Box™  are available?

Answer:The QT Box™ is available in 10 standard sizes.  Custom sizes can be provided for items which are odd-sized, or otherwise would not fit into a standard QT Box™.

Question: Does the QT Box™ come in colors?

Answer:No.  The QT Box is currently only available in royal blue in order to help keep end costs down to you our customers.  If volumes of greater than 100 cases are required we will place custom color orders.

Question: What about printing?

Answer:Custom screen printing is available and can include your company logo, name, address, telephone number, etc.  With printing added, the QT Box™ becomes an effective advertising medium for your company.

Question: What is the minimum quantity I can order?

Answer:Since QT Boxes are fabricated only after an order has been received, we have the flexibility of manufacturing one box or 10,000 boxes.  Price discounts are available for quantity orders.

Question: After I place an order, how soon can I expect to receive my boxes?

Answer:Since the interior of each QT Box™ is custom fabricated, most orders are processed within 10 days to two weeks.  If printing is requested, an additional delay may occur.  Some customers send us an actual sample of the item to be shipped in the QT Box™ which enables our Design Team to expedite the design process.

Question: Can I use a credit card to pay for my order?

Answer:QT Boxes accepts Master Card and VISA.  Open accounts are considered after receiving a credit application and subsequent credit approval.  Credit cards are suggested for first orders while a credit application is pending.

Question: How will you ship my QT Box™ order once it is complete?

Answer:Small quantities can be shipped via UPS, FedEx, DHL, or your choice of carrier.  Large orders are shipped on pallets via common carrier.  You may arrange for the shipping or we can obtain quotes and then you can decide on the method of shipping.  Because we are a frequent shipper, several freight carriers offer special rates to QT Boxes.  If QT Boxes arranges for the freight shipment, the freight charges will be added to your invoice.

Question: How can I get a price quotation?

Answer:QT Boxes is glad to provide a free, no-obligation quotation.  You can contact us by telephone, toll free at 1-800-230-6701, or via email or our quote request page.

    - CK, Del Mar, CA

"By the way, I've shipped our old iMacs all over the country in your boxes. They've been left on convention center docks in the cold and rain in places like Detroit, Chicago and New York during the winter.  They've sat in warehouses in Vegas and Phoenix during the summer.  In addition to the many miles they travel each year, they've been dropped, knocked over, and abused by every freight company in the nation, but I've never had a single iMac damaged during transit.  So I figured that I needed to get new QT Boxes for the new iMacs because there's no way I'm shipping them in anything else."
    -  B.W., Dallas, TX

"If I failed to tell you that we absolutely love the shipping containers you custom made for us, I apologize.  These are great!"
    - JS, Santa Ana, CA
